Grape Variety : Pinot Noir

Nature of the Soil : : These vineyards fall half under the appellation of “village” and half under the appellation of “1er Cru” but always in the “le Clos des Ormes”. The upper part of the parcel, classified in 1er Cru, lays on a limestone and a chalky-clay soil from the Jurassic period. As you descend lower on the slope, the part classified as village, you will find more limestone Bajocian fossils as well as marl.
Harvesting : Manual only
Average Production : : Around 1000 bottles.
Wine Characteristics :: This vintage is a blend of part village and part er Cru (50%, 50%). Located below the famous Grand Cru Le CLOS DE LA ROCHE and next to CHARMES CHAMBERTIN, le Clos des Ormes unites finesse and power. Behind its intense garnet appearance are hidden aromas of black fruits (blackcurrant, blueberry) and cherries. With age, aromas of truffles can develop.
